Watou is a small village on the border between Belgium (Flanders) and France. Without Flemish poet Gwy Mandelinck it would be just another sleepy Flemish village. But for the 25th time Watou is the host of a Summer Poetry Festival with poetry, graphic art, sculptures, video art.
And it is really engaging to walk through the village and enjoy the poetry for instance on the cemetery and afterwards eat a fine meal accompanied by the local beer on the market place.
