Before going to Connecticut all I knew about the state was that it was very populated with rich people. I had no idea that it was so mountainous or that the women there were so beautiful (yeah Boulder Dash op, I'm talking to you). It is also home to two great traditional parks, Quassy and Lake Compounce, which are about a 30-45 minute drive from each other. Each park is definitely worthy of your time if you are ever in the area.
