Over the years photography has become my way of enjoying and seeing nature in a different way. It gets me outside when sometimes I do not feel like getting out. Even if the conditions are not the greatest for photography I am still glad that I got outside and usually feel a little rejuvenated in some way.
My current interest has gone back to mainly B&W compositions. The great thing about B&W landscape photography is that you can photograph anytime of the day and do not have to wait for the golden hours. Depending on subject matter the daily contrasting light and shadows can make for some interesting compositions. In reading Galen Rowell's book "Retrospective" there was a quote that really had an impact on me and continues to this day.
"Now I know that the combination of light and form I seek are virtually infinite and that I will always have new and inspiring subject matter to pursue".
