Turning Japanese...

Nagaokakyo, Kyoto-fu, Japan

Dealing with the Kafunsho (Hay Fever). I didn't really get much Hay Fever in Australia, but one of the pollens here gives it to me bad! Fortunately I only suffer for about a month, some people here suffer for longer, because they get a reaction to more than one type of pollen. Gaijin (foreigners) are not supposed to wear the masks, but considering there is no Hay Fever medication here (and I wouldn't use medication if they had it anyway) it's all I could do. About a year later I started taking a natural supplement that's supposed to help fight hay fever and it does work to some extent, but in 2011 the pollen was extra strong so it was masks + supplement!

Excellent self-portrait. Very original. v
Nasal sprays, such as Nasonex, work well for me.

Seems a touch unfair that we Gaijins aren't supposed to wear masks, what with our long noses and all. Here's wishing you a very fine 2012.
