The Main Hall Lit Up

Higashiyama, Kyoto, Japan view map

Lit up for the autumn colour change season. This is where having the D700 came in handy. No tripods were allowed. Set my Camera to iso6400 and f/2 (aperture priority), high speed shooting. Breathing out and taking a burst of shots. More shots were ruined by people's flashes going off on the other building than camera shake though. If tripods were allowed then all shots would have been ruined by flashes going off! One thing I'm sure it would have been even better if I had the 35f/1.4 and D3S, if you own that set up please go this year, I want to see your photos!

Gorgeous light and colors....so well exposed!

Looks very good - interesting that a short exposure reduces the changes of flash interference
I'd have thought a flash wouldn't work anyways!

Wonderful hand held capture my friend. Very difficult to capture a shot without people's flashes !
Big vote indeed.
