A Big Red Post Box

An example of how the D80s matrix meter prioritises it's reading based on the focal point the. The post box is perfectly exposed but the background is slightly over exposed. I some situations this can lead to blown highlights, other times it is quiet pleasing. However it is something to be aware of if your going from a D50/D70 to a D80.

This image also gives you an idea of the barrel distortion at 18mm

A friend of mine had exactly the same blown highlights "problem" you've constated with the D80 (from the other side, i think it was the same with the Canon 350D !)... otherwise, i love this picture and the compo :o) ! V.
