Greater Union is one of the two big chains of cinemas in Australia, and this one is one of the last of the mainstream cinemas left in the CBD. I remember in the 1970s and 1980s you went into the CBD of Perth (well they did have some in the other main centres like Fremantle back then), if you wanted to go to the cinema. Since the 1990s that all changed with many shopping centres out in the suburbs adding multiplex cinemas.
