Well I finally got the chance on the 14/06/2008 just go for a walkabout with the D80 + 18-135 lens. Although I had used this combo for a few more serious shoots prior to this occasion, this day was my first chance just to go out and be creative with the camera and lens. I have better lenses than the 18-135 in my kit, but anyway they included it with the D80 for only $100 extra, and it normally sells alone for more than $400, so I wasn't going to knock it back. While it aint my best lens in terms of optical and build quality, it's not exactly a lemon either... And it now currently has the widest zoom range out of any of my lenses, so it sees a lot of use just for the practicality of not having to change lenses in the middle of a shoot. The only thing Nikon should have done to make this lens better is to put a metal mount on it... So sit back and enjoy the ride, and don't take it all too seriously folks, photography is meant to be fun!
