Haiti Nov 2005

I went to Ouanaminthe in 2005 and have to say that it just feels different. I did not spend a lot of time there and don't think that I know Haiti in any depth but was struck at how dry, dirty, lonely, and sad it was.
I will say that I did find the Haitian people to be quite modest, having self-respect, timid, shy, courteous, and in general people that highly value family, work, and education.
I plan on going back in 2006 and hope to understand more about what life is like there.
