Here we are leaving from Sto Domingo to get to Thomasique, Haiti. Bus, by foot, a bit of money for the millitary to cross, and then by horse over the river to get to Haiti. Then by truck and a bit more by foot and we got to town.
We spent two nights staying with a family in their house. In the country side it was a bit fresher and cooler at nights and mangoes everywhere.
The houses there have no running water or power and a latrine for the bathroom. There is water but you need to walk a bit to get to it.
We washed using the basin and a bucket and the meals were all cooked with carbon (or firewood).
I had a great time with the family and spent some time in the market that day.
John (Hans) Funk had supplied the soccer balls and I want him to know how excited everyone was to get to play.
I hope you enjoy the photos and thanks to all that helped.
