Persberg

Persberg and its surroundings have been mined at least since the 1400th century. The Persberg peninsula in lake Yngen is literally perforated by pits, shafts and drifts, and all around, remains can be found of ancient mining. The last mine was closed in 1977. However, the most recent head frame is now used to process calcite from the limestone works at Gåsgruvan nearby
