The headframe at Mossgruvan from 1948 with its unique architecture gives the impression of a sad dog, sitting politely on the ground waiting for its master to return, all alone out in the dense forest. Sad to say – it won’t happen….
It is without doubt one of my real favourites. Together with Ställberg, it is probably the very favourite. Apart from the architecture and its livery, even its interiors give an impression of a modern and human-friendly atmosphere, and I assume that SKF was a very good and modern employer.
The surroundings are meticulously cleaned up since the termination of the mining activities in 1972, and the alone building gives a somewhat sad feeling, with its machinery removed, hoist wires cut and its lower windows carefully sealed.
