The trickiest part of the cableway is the crossing over the Hjalmaren straits, where the pylons are up to 500 meters apart. When the loaded buckets passed the pivot point at each pylon top, a "whip" was seen in the drive cable, as it went from "slack-tense" to "tense-slack". Further what cannot be seen on this picture is that the side carrying the loaded buckets was hanging very deep compared with the other side, which in turn exaggerated the problem. However, despite these obvious "by design" problem, the cableway worked very well and derailments were rare.
