Small forest-owners, farmers and loggers often teamed up into local sawmill co-ops and this one is a quite respective one. One central reciprocating saw frame and a boiler. Presumably the steam engine was sold when electricity took the place of steam and it seems like the boiler was last inspected in 1955. This is most likely more not due to the mill being closed by then, but rather the date when electricity became available to this remote location.
