It sure is a difference in the noise figures between the 1DmkII and the 1Dsmk1. Further, the weaker AA filter in the 1Ds reveals more detail. The crop is 1x vs. 1.3x, which gives slightly different FOV as both the subject and tripod/camera are fixed in the same location.

Obviously, the color rendering is different which is easily noticed on the comparisons.

The subject lighting is selected to be slightly over the capability of both cameras, i.e. small parts overexposed (flash reflection in mirror) and small parts underexposed (shadows at wheels)
