These German prisoners of World War II were taken to a POW (Prisoner Of War) camp at Fitzgerald, Ga. These prisoners worked for family farms, construction sites and/or other work details. The POW camp was an old ball park that was lighted (later known as the Blue & Gray Baseball Park) and after the workday, during early night, the Germans were strictly exercised by their own officers and kept their bodies in good physical shape.
