Elder Wilson Conner was a legend unto himself. He performed the marriage ceremony of Gen. John Coffee and Ann Penelope Bryan. He helped take away Amelia Island (Fernandina Beach) from the Spaniards in the early 1800's. He died in the pulpit at Sharon Church in 1844. His daughter, Louisa, married John Willcox III, brother of Gen. Mark Willcox. His house was moved from the Dead River area to Brewton Parker College and restored.
