Old Spanish Mission, St. Isabel, Near Jacksonville, Ga., Early 1600's!

The Fernbank Museum of Natural History has been conducting archaeological "digs" near Jacksonville, Ga., along the Ocmulgee River. The digs seem to confirm the presence of the Spanish and an old Spanish Mission, St. Isabel. If the site is indeed confirmed it will mean that Jacksonville, Ga., had a settlement present in the early 1600's that could rival the time frame of the beginnings of Plymouth Rock and Jamestown!
