If there's one of you out there who's reseached the Pickren linage could I please beg for information. My father was Marion Julian Pickren, his father was Marion Pickren, who was the son of William Marion Pickren and Linnie Smith from Jeff Davis Count Ga. My father was known by everyone, as Jack. I was hoping one of you out there might remember him and have some old photos to share. I know everytime he took a vacation down south he'd stop in Georgia to see his relatives. By the way great pictures of Abigal Pickren and Daniel Campbell Cravey.

I found this on the internet that a Sarah Howell Studstill submitted this information:

"Dodge Co Newspaper Clippings, Vol IV 1920-1928"

pg 1722 (not for sure that's the page #, but is what is found on the bottom of the page on this copy...)

Mr. DANIEL C. CRAVEY, father of Hon. JOHN L. CRAVEY, of Eastman, & a prominent planter of Pondtown district, died at his home several miles below Rhine on Sunday evening last, after an illness of several weeks of bronchia-pneumonia & complications. The body was buried in Rhine Cem Monday afternoon, funeral services being conducted at the Methodist church by Rev. Mr. Hill, pastor. A large congregation of sorrowing relatives & friends were in attendance & not more than half of those present could gain entrance to the church so large was the number of those who had gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to one who had for many years been a pillar of the church & the social & educational life of the community. Those in attendance included quite a number of colored people from the neighborhood of Mr. CRAVEY's home, all of whom were allowed to enter the church & view the remains before the body was carried to the cemetery Mr. CRAVEY was born in Telfair Co, near Milan, on the 9th of February, 1848. He was son of Capt JOHN CRAVEY, a gallant officer of the Confederacy who was married three times & reared a family of twenty children. In 1874 Mr. CRAVEY married to Miss ABIGAIL PICKREN, by whom he is survived. He is also survived by 10 children & three brothers & two sisters. The children are JOHN L. CRAVEY, Mrs. MARY L. WILLIAMS, MARVIN CRAVEY, Mrs. J.D. STUDSTILL, G.C. CRAVEY, Mrs. JENNINGS COFFEE, L.M. CRAVEY, Miss ESSIE CRAVEY. The brothers & sisters are R.C., L.M., & JOHN CRAVEY, all of Milan, Mrs. SUSANNAH WALKER & Mrs. M. PICKREN."
