Robyn Ray about 45 years ago in front of Jacksonville's last "courthouse." The old building served for the business of the court of the Justice of Peace and for a voting place during elections. It also was the site of another activity - the local barbershop. Daniel Padgett, Dan Jr. Padgett, Geiger Bowen, John C. Streetman, and others cut hair here. The building was located just behind the auto repair garage of R.E. Clark and right across the street from the old Jax Theater. Just on the other side by the pecan tree was the home of J.D. and Mattie Williams (present site of water tank).
