Remaining Dodge House At Suomi

Hurrah! We have additional information. According to Mrs. Dorothy Hargrove Stoeger, who was born in the room where John Forsyth was killed, the house pictured here is the other Dodge agent's home (the home of John Knox) and NOT the home of John Forsyth. She sent a painting of the Forsyth home for The Dodge Land Troubles book and you can see it close by on this photo album. Thanks, Mrs. Stoeger.

The house in this photo is not the JB Knox house as has been assumed by many. The JB Knox house is across the railroad tracks on Suomi Road (It is the white house with the big oak). I owned the house and had in my possesion the titles and deeds with JB knox's name. I sold the house to Ronnie Weeks and he now has these papers. I won't bother registering, but my name is Rick Talbert and my email is 2shoer@windstream.net if anyone wants to research it further.

I was born in the Forsyth house in 1922 and it burned in the early 30's. The house inyour photographs are of the John Knox house which was also built by the Dodge Co about the same time and of similar materials. However, the Forsyth house was on a grander scale and the architecture was not the same. A photograph of it can be seen in a recently published book, " The Georgia Land Troubles" by Jane walker and Chris Trowell along with an article by my niece, Welda Davis Whigham who was also born in the house. Please correct the captions.
