Old River Road At Dopson Hill, Jacksonville, Ga.

You are looking east - if you went about 3 miles you would come to the old site of the plantation of Gen. John Coffee, famous Jacksonville native. He and Thomas Swain built another road - the Coffee Road, now called the Old Coffee Road, from Jacksonville, Ga., to Tallahassee, Fl. If you look to the left of the Old River Road you will see modern Highway 117 (Jacksonville-Lumber City Highway).
