"I work best from the inside out. Over time my mind has constantly stored snapshots of all kinds: events, impressions, reactions and feelings. Things I see everyday connect me with some of those snapshots from the past. It is this combination that creates the bulk of my paintings. As my life unfolds, so do my paintings."
Jack Dickerson translates minor everyday occurrences into striking moments in time. He paints what he feels, in his own way. His paintings evolve, without preconception, gradually coming to life with strong lighting.
Jack's work has been shown in both group and solo exhibitions in the Northeast. His paintings hang in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. He has been published in many publications including Graphis, Better Homes & Gardens and The Boston Globe. He has been recognized with numerous awards. He is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and the Allgemeine Gewerbeschule in Basel, Switzerland. He was the recipient of a two-year grant from the Ford Foundation. The artist comes from a family of Dutch architects.
