Enjoyed looking at Mark III images. Looks like you're using the 100-400 with 1.4 extender for many of them. Very pleasantly surprised to see the quality with relatively high ISO's. I would not have thought I could increase this far and get such beautiful results. I'm going to try it. I believe I have the same equipment, but am fairly new at this. I'm also brand new with CS3, with only a few months experience with CS2. Lots to learn.

I have the basic Tamron 2x converter MC7 which does not auto focus with the 100-400.
With a 1.6x camera the Tamerons are fine, I used the 1.4x MC4 all the time.
Now with a FF camera I find the light falloff of the Tamrons is strong, but its not seen with 1.6x cameras.

Ooops, typo, I meant the 100-400. Sorry.

Vincent,
Outstanding work w/ the 100-200, especially w/ the teleconverters. Which 2x did you use? I've tried the Canon, but there is no autofocus unless I tape the contacts, and it still doesn't work properly. Did you manually focus those shots?

Hello Vincent,
i am interested at the nikon s4. Can you email me few more indoor photos with flash please ? I would like to see how it works indoors.
Have you tried the Portrait Mode? How it works?
How works the D-Lighting function and the In-Camera Red-Eye Fix?
Whats your overall opinion abaut the camera?
Thanks
Mirko

I have just been browsing the internet looking at new cameras and found the new S4 (that is not yet available here in France). I have had a nikon for several years now and the only thing I didn't like about it was the response time otherwise I have great pictures. It is a 4 million pixel 3x optical zoom. I love the look of this S4 and love your sample photos. As I love Canada and the rockies as well I was really spoilt, lol. The only thing that would make me hesitate in buying such a camera would be the lack of viewfinder. When I take outdoor photos with my campera I cannot see a thing on the screen. I did at one time think of getting myself a proper camera like the the 300D from Canon but I know well that because of the size and weight I would not use it as much so would not take many photos and also it is not really in my budget, vbg. Would you do a few more indoor photos with flash please ? I would like to see how it works indoors.

cheers,
Joanne

The 100-400 L work well with it's IS, and also it has nice bokeh.

Vincent ver nice Gallery. Question in yourt lens test it looks like Sigma 50-500 beat the Canon 100-400 L, is that correct.

Dear Mr. Vincent, my husband has four watercolor paintings signed by a J. Vincent done in '84 and '85 of mountains/scenery. He rec'd them from his grandparents who lived in Canada. One of the paintings had a title on the back, "#29 Island Trees." Is this your work?

Thanks - Carey G. e-mail: cgamble@ashwaubenon.k12.wi.us

Jack, enjoyed looking at your galleries, can remember some of the zoo photos from the last time I was in Calgary and in the mountains last summer. Sure nice in that area. have had a 20d for a month or so. Have the 17-85 lens and its great. Purchased a 70-210 eos and its ok. Just bought a Sigma 70-300 and am liking it. Tried the 75-300 canon and not sure about it. These are just my opinions. Looking at other lens now but its the pocket book thing...if you get the chance view my photos, lots of the same interests...thanks for sharing yours...Ron

Some of the best pics I have seen to date.
Your work is amazing.. Being from east Canada-I can apprecaiate the snow pics.
...I can see the cold weather pics have such a phenomenal look to them and I can only search for such great sites here in Quebec.. I don't know if I would be able to find eagles and hawks anywhere around here..but your animal shots are amazing..
I would love to know what lenses you were using..
Thanks...

Your pics are very nice and sharp. I particularly noticed the quality with 100-400 lens + tc.
I'm planning to get a 100-400 and tc and would be grateful for an advice from you.
I have some questions. My doubt is Tc: Canon or Kenko Pro 300? but now I've seen your Tamron and it seems to give top results.
You tell that also AF works, nice! Is it also rapid and precise as when without tc? Does also Image Stabilizer work with Tamron?
Do you think that the more expensive Tamron tc pro sp allows IS and AF to work?
Excuse for all this questions and thank you very much in advance for your suggestions
