LCD Monitor Tips for 1080p PC Use

1) OPERA for WEB: Try new Opera as your web browser, it has a great zoom function.
Use the + and - keys to zoom web pages, its zooms much better than IE or Firefox.
Makes the entire page larger, including images, works great. Press f11 for a full screen view.
2) SCALE DESKTOP: For the desktop , I also increased the font scaling in XP to 150%,
everything is much easier to see now on the desktop,
and video and photos show at the full 1920x1080.
Its under Display Settings/Advanced/General.
3) WIRELESS KB/ AIR MOUSE: Wireless kb and mouse,
I use the Gyration Wireless kb and mouse, the mouse works with the air with wrist movements. Also consider Microsoft 7000, and Logitech Edge both have trackpads on the KB.
4) DISPLAY SETTINGS: HDMI or DVI is the best as its full digital.
VGA may work very well too, but will need some fine tuning.

5) DVD ZOOMPLAYER/FFDSHOW For DVD playback that looks close to HD, try Zoomplayer and the FFDshow filter.
Set FFDshow to resize the video to 1920x1080 and adjust the sharpen settings.
The quality is impressive. Check the web for setup help.
6) ARCADE: Try Mame32plus for your old arcade games, play with the display settings in it and you'll end up with a very nice image.
