Tormenting

Skerton Bridge.

Designed by Thomas Harrison and built in 1783-1788 at a cost of £14,000,
the design was revolutionary. Based on the Roman bridge in Rimini,
it is one of the first in the UK with a flat deck for its full length,
and was copied for London's Waterloo Bridge.
