It seems sometimes that some people are never satisfied with the season of the year
that they’re in at the time. Today is one of those drop dead gorgeous autumn days
that the sky is eye-blasting crisp bright blue, the trees are just starting to turn
and you can almost smell the neighbor’s burning leaves. Normally I absolutely love
the fall, but for some reason today I’m mourning the end of summer, with all those
lazy hazy days stretching before me. I’m already missing all the visits to the many
beaches and waterways here in the area with the young ladies wearing those next-to-nothing
bathing suits and the smell of barbeque and watermelon permeating the air almost
everywhere you go. Don’t you miss it too … the wonderful sweaty aroma of all the
coco-butter tanning oil and the warm sand between your toes, children laughing and
playing in the distance eating their ice cream cones and pop-sickles?
I do.
