This and the image just before are my two favorite images from the series
That Hugo Rodriquez, (my assistant) took of us that day, but this image is the
one I ultimately printed to an 11” 14” enlargement and matted and framed it
out to a 16” X 20” enlargement. It used to hang just inside the front door
of my old home in Jacksonville, so that every time my ex-wife left the kids
she would have to look at it. Yes, this was a little spiteful and mean, but since
she always said I was “shooting pornography” but had no problem in spending
the money I was giving her from these “pornographic” images, it seemed only
fitting to rub it in just a little bit. For the record, I have never shot a “pornographic”
image in my life nor will I. If I would be embarrassed to matt it and hang it on
my living room wall, then I won’t take the photograph. Her attitude was always
“if the woman is nude, it’s pornographic”. She didn’t (or wouldn’t) see the art
in any of my images in all the years we were married. As I said though, she
sure didn’t have a problem in spending the thousands of dollars the work
brought in! Sometimes, a little spiteful revenge is a guy thing.
