"G" is for "Grin"

Tallahassee / Quincy, Florida

Look at this face.
It’s beat up. It’s scarred. Hair and beard going gray.
It’s the face of too many years and too many tears and far too much sun.
It’s the face of a man that six weeks before his son’s 19th birthday, he had to bury him.
It’s the face of a man that’s known heartbreak.
Do you know what else though?
It’s an honest face, … a good face.
It's the face of a man that knows how to love his wife and love his kids and loves life.
Maybe the grin isn’t as big as it once was years ago, …
but the twinkle is still in the eyes, …
and the song is still in the heart.
I guess in the end that’s what’s really important.
It’s my face.

Oh, how nice to come home from being away for a day and night to such wonderful words from you! I miss you, too, when I'm away, you know! Love this photo! It is one of my favorites.

The words ring true. Well said, well shot.

Hey, that cowboy hat really suits you. Great SP.

Why Hello John, (no glasses, but I'd know that hat anywhere!) Yep, it's a good face. ;)

This is a very warm SP. I like this very much. Maybe one of your best. Very geniune facial expression and that smile is just very warming.

Love the photo....it really does show all of the character that time has written on your face and your commentary really makes the image special. Hmmmm, no wonder Gerie seems so fond of you! :-)
