Festas and events

Pictures from just a few of the many artistic, sporting and religious highlights of
the island's calendar.

Through the year there are celebrations for the feast days of the saints to whom individual
churches and parishes are dedicated.

Some, such as the one held in Ponte, for San Giovan Giuseppe della Croce, over the first
weekend of September, include large public events - others are more for local worshippers.
