The concept of three sexes is ancient in Thailand. Northern Thailand creation tales say that in the beginning, a man and woman had three children: a male, a female, and a third sex. This third sex is considered by many Thai to be a ladyboy. The belief is that ladyboys had affairs with many women in their past lives. No one bar is the way to go. Just walk Soi Cowboy and let it happen. One word to a doorman or bartender will direct you to where you want to go. Bar scene changes all the time and so do the ladyboys. Hello. I also was stationed in Thailand and extended my tour there to 24 months. Air Force at Don Muang AFB which was attached to the main airport in Bangkok. Was stationed in Thailand from 73 to 74 (15 months total) and spent approximately 5 months of my stay there in Bangkok. Obviously the ladyboy presence has grown alot since then for at that time there were few ladyboys in Bangkok. My first experience with a ladyboy was in Udorn of all places. I was walking back to the air base there in Udorn and crossing a small foot bridge when I saw a girl that I had noticed in a bar a few hours back. I talked to her for a minute and she began kissing me very sexually and passionately. I told her to wait for me as I would tell my friends that I was staying in the town for the night. As I was approaching her, a known bargirl there grabbed me and told me to watch out for I was going to see a 'katoey'. I laughed, as there was no way this could be a ladyboy.
