Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit some of my photos. As for the Tamron lens I personally feel it is a winner and would have no problem recommending it for you for studio work. I have used the lens many times in the studio and so far it has not let me down. The only cadvat is the odd misfocus while using as a walk-around lens while at f2.8. This is most likely due to the autofocus which is very good overall, but it does miss the odd time. Hope this helps....

Thanks for that, Isi and sorry for not replying sooner. Worked Friday to Sunday at a local Steam Fair – V.HOT. Then Monday to Wednesday in London for Denise to find where she used to live and her Mums old workplace, also for all four of us (and a few thousand others) to have a spot of tea with the Queen! Again a V. hot couple of days but plenty to drink at the garden party. MUST find the time to get some posts up – I’m so far behind. Bye for now, Ian

Hi Isolde Very nice gallery. I was checking out your Lumix DMC FZ-5 work as I have the same camera. Great work with the Lumix. I have couple of questions. 1. Which Pict. Adj. mode between Standard, Neutral and Vivid do you usually use? 2. While using Flash what kind of setting (P, A, S, etc.) do you use? I havent been able to take good pictuers with teh flash Thanks

Thanks so much for your kind words! Must admit I was kind of taken back. Really enjoyed checking out your galleries too. The “In My Garden” work is fantastic. You asked about my yellow background in the Lady Bug gallery. Took these shots on my lunch break while at work. The backgrounds consist of a yellow plastic container, blue box, blue binder, pelican camera case and a sheet of white paper. Brought the lady bug from home and a clipping of flowers. Set my flash on my work truck and fired away. I can remember how excited I was to look at them on my computer. So glad you enjoyed them. Thanks again for your kind words. It’s pretty darn inspirational receiving positive feedback!!

Hey, many thanks for stopping by! As to what kind of flower is http://www.pbase.com/image/35320594 I have no idea. I've never seen anything like it either. I happened to come across it during a walk in the woods in a nearby park. I took that photo to our local naturalist at the park and he couldn't identify it either. (Apparently flowers aren't his area of expertise.) Again, many thanks. You have a lot of great galleries. Especially enjoy your portraits; I always find portraits especially intimidating myself. :)

I have always had a fascination with castles and ruins (I've always been an explorer at heart).
