My Hiker's Gallery

The Canon S400 was bought for my husband to take hiking. He took these pictures and I resized them and slightly tweaked them for best viewing. Any alterations made will be explained under the picture. I was tremendously impressed with the out-of-camera results he got. Dynamic range and color are outstanding. I'm very glad we got the S400!

Bill (Wilkev) here from the forums. Great shots of Pisgah Forest (I see your husband took these). The Looking Glass area is one of my favorites when I'm down from New England. Love to hike in the area. Take care.

Your photos are amazing I been following your post on dpreview..Both galleries are great..so based on your pictures is hard to make a camera decision..I guess the difference is you know your stuffˇˇˇ congratulations

What fine pictures of the Brevard area! Just three weeks ago I visited Ivestor Gap -- that's not far in a straight line from Graveyard Field -- to pick huckleberries, something I do at least once every year. It's only 2-1/2 hours from here, i. e., East Tennessee.

Your "darkroom" technique is excellent, too.
