Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18

From the very start I loved this camera. The huge feature set, image stabilization and live histogram among the favorites, really make it a very versatile tool. Color is gorgeous. While not known as a low light camera, It's given me beautiful results at higher ISOs - maybe a bit more noisy than other digicams I've used, but beautiful color always present. Using Custom White Balance great increases color accuracy in difficult lighting situations. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this camera to my friends.

Hello, I am a DMC-FZ8 user (see examples at pbase.com/tercerocosta). I am a believer in Panasonic for outdoor use (great colors, better than higher priced dslr's)because of the realistic exact colors. I see this camera still has noise problems at lower light, but not as bad as my FZ8. I am considering going to the "big boy" Panasonic dslr, but from your pics, I may have to rethink this? My question is, do you get that "painting" effect when zooming in at over +28, especially at lower to dim light levels? Thanks, L. Clem

I am going to Alaska in June and am seriously considering buying this camera in the next few days. I was wondering if you would still recommend it? I am currently using the Canon PowerShot S60 and am looking for a better zoom P&S. BTW, great gallery. I really appreciated the opportunity to view your examples from the Z18. Thank you and voted.

I also love my FZ18 it allow so much beautiful things without wearing a lot of material. and the most important is the not the camera but what you do with!! your examples are quiet significant. Christian
