_MG_0479 Serendipity

I was fascinated by the challenge of getting a good exposure with the very strong splotch of sun on the stairs. Happened to have the XTi in my hands set for b/w and as I was composing Louie appeared. Barely had time to click. Processed this with the new black/white adjustment layer feature in CS3 which I am liking more and more. Decided sharp focus didn't enhance the image so I use the Soft Focus feature of Harald Heim's FocalBlade plug-in.

Interesting! Are those your photographs on the wall?

What a wonderful photo, Isabel. The choice of using B&W, the pictures on the wall with the simple frames, the banister, the stairs, all with clean lines and geometric shapes give the scene an almost stark look. At first I thought the light source was a night-light rather than the sun that was throwing the intriguing shadows on the wall. Then the wild card, a touch of whimsy as we see the cat silently stealing down the stairs. With what in mind? We can only guess.
