Our first stop featured a carriage driving exhibition at Little Mountain Farm, owned by Paul Nordan and Kristina Keesom who raise Haflingers, primarily used for carriage driving and trail riding. It consists of 14 acres on the CETA trail system connecting to Hughes Creek Preserve. We enjoyed the demonstrations by members of the Carolina Carriage Club, with a variety of conveyances reminiscent of the 19th and early 20th centuries. They began with driven dressage tests in a 40x80 meter ring, followed by obstacle driving and cones driving. The demonstration comprised all three elements of a three-day combined driving event.
