flash on stand

Far from ideal setup! Camera is too high. Should be on animal's level. The results of this setup are shown after the "next" photo, which shows a rice bag I use to keep the stand from tipping over. So far have only experimented with bounce flash in this mode. The Canon off-camera cord, is quite tightly coiled and doesn't stretch very far. Reviews on Amazon's site state that the cord doesn't hold up. I suspect that's because it may be treated roughly by people trying to stretch it. There's probably some sort of expensive extension for it...or at least that would be nice to have. Have to try direct and see what happens. The bracket on that lightstand is there because I use the stand to hold both an umbrella and a flash. Here's the packing:

Canon PowerShot A610
1/50s f/3.5 at 9.6mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original

See here for various Canon wired flash parts:
I think the off-shoe cord 2 is an all-in-one permanent assembly of cord and adapters that are available separtely. They do make 60cm and 300cm connecting cords. The off-shoe cord 2 is 60cm and I don't think you can extend it.

Fancy looking set up there, Isabel. I know you are going to get some great shots!
