In the morning Louie likes to romp in a paper bag into which I've sprinkled some catnip. It still wasn't too bright out so I set my Sony DSC F717 at ISO 800 to capture this shot which wasn't too sharp or well exposed to start with. Inside the bag it was too dark and outside the bag, too light. I first denoised the image with Noise Ninja, corrected the light and dark areas with the shadow/highlight tool in PS CS2, resized down and applied strong sharpening with Smart Sharpen in CS2, some contrast and saturation adjustment, a filtration with buZZ Simplify, bringing back detail from the original to put some life in the eyes, nose, whiskers, bits of fur...ending with a muslin texture and then a gaussian blur border.
