Raw image taken in Aperture Mode with internal fill flash. Severely overexposed background and burnt highlights. A challenge to fix and a reminder that using manual exposure is better for situations like this! I would guess exposing for the window light and using fill flash with + flash exposure compensation for the black dog...then you have to darken the highlights on the chair. Raw conversion allows you to make several conversion of the image...each optimally (hopefully) exposed for a specific area and then combined with layer masks to bring through the best conversions for each area.
