grab your phone! Famed photographer, Mary Ellen Mark, did not allow her students to use cellphones to make pictures. She said they weren't real cameras. I disagree. I believe Ms. Mark didn't realize the controls today's phone cameras have such exposure compensation. She was basically a black and white film photographer who believed, and I agree with her, that color was more difficult than black and white. So, why do so many of us photograph nearly always in color?
The f/64 group believed that the camera can see far better than the human eye, and that has certainly been evidenced to my with macrophotographs, but I believe MY flawed eyes see with much great depth of field than my dslrs or micro 43 cameras. I enjoy shooting with my phone with its dynamic range, over-sharpening and zoom limitations because of its depth of field and instant gratification, but I'm not opposed to editing its images! (Normally, I don't use flash, but the setting had been turned on for an image requiring it, and I forgot to turn it off.)
