It's been 11 days since I put a caterpillar and some springs of parsley into a plastic jar which had a wet paper towel for moisture on the bottom and a piece of aluminum foil with holes in it on the top. I also sprayed the container every other day with a little bit of water. It sat on my kitchen counter away from the sun.
