These were given to me for safe-keeping on Tuesday. They were destined for a small luncheon for the ladies with whom I exercise two times a week. The donor said she had already eaten half of them and they were safer with me.

As luck would have it, the luncheon was called off (only two of us left for various reasons) and I decided it would be okay to taste a cookie...and since Bill was home, he could taste one too. Then I decided we could each have another.

I have never in my life tasted better cookies. They were baked by a friend of the donor's who used to have a bake shop.

Can you imagine how much work went into their creation?

In deference I took very small bites.
