Honey Sesame Chicken Skewers

A bit too much charcoal. This was out first time using our Lodge Sportman's Grill Hibachi like a Japanese Binchotan grill - without the grill on top, so there's no danger of the chicken getting stuck to it. Marinade was DELICIOUS. Don't be shocked at how little of it there is for 8 oz. of chicken - which, by the way, wasn't really enough for the two of us. I'll make double the amount next time and save the leftovers, if there are any! The 1/4 teaspoon of 5 spice powder and the charred spots on the chicken made for some seriously delicious flavor. I served it with rice, norigoma furikake seaweed sprinkle (see next image), and glazed carrots with lemon juice, accompanied by lichee tea.
Next time I'll put the chicken closer to the pointed end of the skewers and perhaps will use square metal skewers that will allow me to rotate the chicken so that it will stay put!
