At the First Annual DREAM Scholarship Fiesta, sponsored in response to the failure of the DREAM act, by several local churches, we heard a young recipient, who not only works two jobs, but also attends Brevard College and attends church. She barely has time to breathe. She said yesterday was the first time that her single mother could attend an event with her because she was busy working too so that they could afford to send her to school.
Without the DREAM Act, undocumented students have to pay five times the rate for tuition at state schools that residents pay.
Here she is thanking everyone for her scholarship and telling us about her life.
