The drought is bringing all sorts of non-regulars to my sunflower seed feeder. Before I shot this red-bellied woodpecker, there was a dove trying to balance on the perch. I don't know if it ever got any seed, so I broadcast some on the ground beneath the feeder and along the deck railing. It's very sad to see the birds so desperate.
