While eating breakfast this morning we heard a crash from the adjoining room and found that this picture had fallen off the wall onto the table, knocking just one small photo off, and creating a small scratch in the table.

This is not the first time we've heard a similar, much louder crash. In that case another hook. from which a very heavy mirror was suspended, failed. We had the box from that one, with the weight tolerance on it, about 20 lbs. more than the mirror, and it had been purchased at Lowe's. We filed a claim and Lowe's paid for the repair of the mirror, which had cracked in several places.

Lesson learned: Don't believe those weight tolerances on picture hook boxes, and use TWO! See what the failed hook looks like, compared with one that hasn't failed, in the next image
