Young Milkweed Bug Nymphs

From a distance the nymphs, huddled together at the left, looked like aphids, but the color was unlike aphid colors I had seen before (green, orange, black), so I brought out my camera with the Tamron 90mm macro on it and shot a picture. I thought it might help to put my hand in a picture so you could see how tiny they were. As soon as my hand got near the ascelpias seed pod they quickly scattered and the adult appeared - I'm surprised it didn't hide.
