I've since learned that this is a squash bug nymph and they do eat plant matter, not other bugs!!!
I haven't seen any evidence of damage but perhaps I have to reduce the population down to one from three!
I estimate the body size is about 5/8". Bug won't stay put for me to measure!
The f30 produces WONDERFUL macros. It's so much fun to use. I actually prefer it for macros to using a dslr because I can handhold it and get much deeper depth of field than I would with a dslr at the same aperture.
