A great technique for capturing action with the Sony DSC F717 (and other cameras where you can make similar adjustments) is to manually preset shutter, aperture and flash output, zoom to full wide angle, flash in bounce position and shoot away. Better chance of getting in focus pictures due to wider depth of field with lens set at wide angle and f stop as small as possible. Most of these were taken at f4.5 and 1/200 sec. Some levels and unsharp masking used, with a bit of white balance adjustment thrown in. Flash used, Nikon SB22s.
