Canon 580ex Speedlite

Am I glad I finally gave in and bought this gem. No more time wasted on test shots. I use the camera on manual so I can get the depth of field I want with decent shutter speeds.

Important: Don't practice too much on your cats. Mine are no longer as cooperative as they were when I never used flash on them. They are now squinting, looking away and running away. This is not good! My dog, on the other hand, used to receiving a treat after he poses, is still cooperating!

Please note: It is not possible to trigger this flash remotely from the Canon 7D. You need the newer version, the 580ex II. I have the Canon ST-E2 remote trigger, which goes into the flash shoe and I use that for remote triggering.

VERY nice! Sure beats the old direct, burned out highlights, horrible shadow-on-the-wall flash of yesteryear! Bill looks about as happy to have his photo taken as Brenda usually does! :-)
